HAL-made Dhruv ALH (Advanced Light Helicopter) is an indigenously built
twin engine, multi-role, multi-mission new generation helicopter in the 5.5
ton weight class. It is used in multiple operations by the Indian Air Force,
the Indian Navy as well as the Indian Army. It is also used for civilian
purposes, such as, Air ambulance, ferrying VIPs, Search and Rescue
operations. The Founder was extensively trained in Advanced Composites
when he was deputed to Eurocopters, Germany in 1986. He was one of
the first Engineers from India to be trained in this technology. He had a
significant role to play in the development of the Dhruv helicopter. The first
flight of Dhruv was in 1990 after a very short development period (a
remarkable achievement in the Aviation world).
LCA – Tejas is a single engined, light weight, highly agile, multi-role
supersonic fighter. It has quadruplex digital fly-by-wire Flight Control
System (FCS) with associated advanced flight control laws. The aircraft
with delta wing is designed for ‘air combat’ and ‘offensive air support’ with
‘reconnaissance’ and ‘anti-ship’ as its secondary roles. Extensive use of
advanced composites in the airframe gives a high strength to weight ratio,
long fatigue life and low radar signatures.
The Indian National Satellite System or INSAT, is a series of multipurpose
geostationary satellites launched by ISRO to satisfy the telecommunications, broadcasting, meteorology, and search
and
rescue operations. Commissioned in 1983, INSAT is the largest domestic communication system in the Indo-Pacific Region.
250 KW indigenously developed Wind Turbine Blade for the Non-conventional Energy Department of the GoI. In 1992, Department of Non-conventional Sources (DNES) became Ministry of Non-conventional
Sources (MNES) aimed at research and development in renewable energy
sector.
